ARTIS-Micropia Tickets: Discover Microbe Museum

Compare ARTIS-Micropia admission and zoo combinations. Check inclusions, child entry and booking conditions for Amsterdam’s microbe museum.

ARTIS-Micropia brings Amsterdam’s smallest inhabitants into view through living microbes, microscopes and interactive displays. Choose museum admission for an independent visit or combine it with ARTIS Zoo if you want to explore both attractions.

These are separate venues: a Micropia-only ticket does not include the zoo or the Groote Museum. Check the selected date, age category and exact inclusions before booking.

Micropia admission and ARTIS Zoo combinations

Compare Micropia admission with an ARTIS Zoo combination. The museum-only options suit a focused visit; the combination adds a different attraction and needs more time.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

Do I need to book Micropia in advance?

Choose the date and any entry time required by the selected offer. Booking ahead lets you check availability and the final total before travelling. Follow the admission instructions on your confirmation.

The admission offers here are for an independent museum visit. You explore displays and microscopes at your own pace. Staff talks are part of the museum programme; they are different from booking a private guided tour.

No. A Micropia-only ticket admits you to the microbe museum. ARTIS Zoo and the Groote Museum are separate attractions. Choose an offer explicitly including the zoo if you want to visit both.

Micropia is at Plantage Kerklaan 38–40, beside ARTIS in Amsterdam’s Plantage district. Go to the museum entrance specified on your voucher rather than assuming a zoo ticket or entrance covers your visit.

Allow around 1–2 hours as a practical planning estimate, depending on how much time you spend at each display. Add a separate block of time for ARTIS Zoo when booking a combination.

ARTIS states that children up to and including 12 years old enter Micropia free. Check whether your booking needs a child reservation. Zoo combinations have different age categories and should be checked separately.

The selected combination includes admission to Micropia and ARTIS Zoo. Check its date, entry instructions and any validity restrictions before paying. It does not automatically include the separately ticketed Groote Museum.

Conditions depend on the partner and the selected offer. Check the cancellation deadline and change rules before payment; do not assume that every seller offers the same flexibility.

Micropia provides step-free access and a lift. Check ARTIS accessibility information for your specific needs and contact the museum ahead of time if you require assistance or a loan wheelchair.
