The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam brings modern and contemporary art and design together on Museumplein. Choose museum admission for an independent visit, or compare a combination if you also want another museum or a canal cruise.
Check the exhibition access included in your ticket. Some exhibitions can require a specific start time or an additional charge. A general museum ticket should not be read as a promise of entry to every separately ticketed exhibition or event.

Choose your Stedelijk Museum visit
Start with museum admission when the Stedelijk is your main destination. A combination can suit a longer day if you want both included activities. Allow time to travel between venues, and compare any exhibition reservation requirements separately.
Compare Stedelijk admission and exhibition entry
Compare standard Stedelijk admission from different booking partners with the separate Yayoi Kusama retrospective entry option. Do not assume a standard ticket includes the special exhibition: the GetYourGuide admission listed here excludes it. Check the selected offer’s exhibition access, available date and entry time.
Stedelijk Museum tickets and starting prices
Selected partner admission offers currently start from €22.50. Rates and availability vary by seller and option; combined tickets add another activity and can cost more. Check whether your chosen exhibition needs an additional reservation or supplement.
The museum offers free admission to visitors under 19 and reduced categories for eligible students and card holders. Check your eligibility before purchasing a full-price partner ticket.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
Do I need a timed entry ticket?
Book online in advance and follow the selected offer’s entry instructions. Some exhibitions require their own start time. Check both museum admission and exhibition access when planning your visit.
Is an audio guide included?
The museum provides audio tours, with Dutch and English available for the main and temporary exhibitions. Check the selected offer for additional languages and whether your chosen exhibition is covered.
Are all exhibitions included?
Check the specific ticket. Some exhibitions may require a supplement or separate timed booking. The GetYourGuide offer listed here explicitly excludes the separately ticketed Yayoi Kusama exhibition; do not assume every ticket covers every exhibition.
Can I buy tickets at the museum?
The museum recommends buying online before arrival. Check availability for your date and any separately booked exhibition. Do not rely on being able to buy the exact option you want at the door.
How long should I allow for my visit?
Allow around 2–3 hours as a planning estimate for an independent art and design visit. You may want longer for a substantial temporary exhibition. A second museum or canal cruise needs additional time.
Do children need a ticket?
Visitors under 19 enter free under the museum’s standard admission rules. Check the reservation requirements for your chosen exhibition and select the correct age category when booking.
How do combination tickets work?
Combination tickets include separate activities. Choose the dates or times requested for each component and follow each venue’s instructions. A cruise has its own boarding point; a Moco combination includes a second museum visit.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Cancellation and changes depend on the booking partner and option. Read the terms before paying, especially for combinations where the conditions for the two activities can differ.
Does the I amsterdam City Card include this museum?
Stedelijk admission is included for eligible I amsterdam City Card holders under the museum’s published rules. Check the current pass terms, exhibition supplements and reservation requirements before buying another ticket. Compare options in our Amsterdam city passes guide.
