History of FC Barcelona Museum
The concept of a museum dedicated to FC Barcelona was first proposed in the 1920s by club founder Joan Gamper. However, political instability and the Spanish Civil War delayed the project for decades.

It was not until September 1984, under the presidency of Josep Lluís Nuñez, that the museum finally opened its doors to the public.
Originally covering a modest area inside the stadium structure, the museum underwent multiple expansions over the years—notably in 1994, 1998, and 2010—growing to thousands of square meters to accommodate millions of global football fans. In 2000, the institution was officially renamed the Museu President Nuñez in honor of its founder.
With the launch of the ambitious “Espai Barça” redevelopment plan to modernize Spotify Camp Nou, the original museum space was temporarily relocated to the converted Ice Rink building adjacent to the stadium in 2023. Renamed the “Barça Immersive Tour,” this temporary installation served as a bridge until the complete reopening of the newly renovated stadium complex.
